Regional Conference 2016

The Best Western Cedar Court Hotel, Harrogate, HG1 5AH
Friday 13th  -  Sunday 15th October 2017

Cedar Court

Yorkshire & Humberside’s Regional Conference has a long standing reputation for being a warm and friendly conference with delegates enjoying lively debate and discussion on both national and local educational issues. This year the conference will be held at the Best Western Cedar Court Hotel in the heart of Harrogate. Conference motions debated and carried help inform local associations in the  motions they carry forward to National Conference and ultimately inform national union policy and action.
If you would like to be considered as a delegate, please contact Paula Wescott, Kirklees NASUWT Negotiating Secretary for more information and a booking form:

07720099035 / paula.wescott.nasuwt@gmail.com
Travel & accommodation expenses will be paid. Partners can attend as non-delegates. Four workshops are planned for the Saturday afternoon: Behaviour Management, Equality in Schools  -  making it happen, Mindset (NLP) and Organising (on a school level).

As the event is taking place earlier in the year than normal, all completed booking forms must be returned no later than 21st July, so please respond promptly to avoid disappointment.

Email: rc-yorksandhumb@mail.nasuwt.org.uk for a nomination form.

Simply complete section 1 of the relevant nomination form.

Then ask one member of your Local Association to propose you and another  member to second you by completing section 2 of the form.

Return your completed nomination form with the documents specified on the form by post to NASUWT Regional Centre, 241 Leeds Road, Rothwell, Leeds. LS260GR or email:

Alternatively, you might want to nominate another NASUWT member?!Vacancies exist for the following posts:

Vice President

The Vice President is a three-year term of office, becoming President next year and then Ex-President the following year. The role varies depending on local    practice. It can involve chairing meetings and supporting local negotiations and  other NASUWT activity. Any member with a contract to teach, lecture or instruct is eligible to stand. For this role the NASUWT provides support, advice and training.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is made up of members who wish to be more involved in the Union supporting the local officer group in running the Local Association and supporting NASUWT members locally. The amount of involvement Executive members have varies, depending on how involved they wish to be. This may be no more than attending and playing an active part in Executive Committee meetings or it may be volunteering to take on small tasks as the need arises. All full members of the NASUWT are eligible to stand.

If you would like further information about any of the roles, please contact Steve White on 01132014600 or email rc-yorksandhumb@mail.nasuwt.org.uk

In the event of nominations for more candidates than posts available, the National Union will administer a ballot of members.
